School Newsletter-January 2019

  • We warmly welcomed Mrs Angela Tordoff to the staff of the school. Mrs Tordoff is working as S.N.A and we wish her fulfillment and happiness in this new role.
  • Catholic Schools Week was celebrated, beginning with a visit from Diocesan Adviser Mrs Marian Maloney. Mrs Maloney visited all of the classes and engaged with the children on the content of their respective Religion Programmes.
  • The children in each of the classrooms were given the opportunity of receiving two sessions of tuition in the Claremorris Athletics Centre. Pupils were instructed in hurdling, long jump, high jump, javelin and relay. This experience was extremely worthwhile and was enjoyed by all.

  • The Aistear theme in Miss Egan’s classroom was; The Farm. Children constructed farms and marts from wooden bricks, they also made clothes for farm animals. Pupils had a farm shop where they sold farm books and homemade food like burgers and sausages made from play-doh. In Drama, learners were animals having adventures at night and they also hunted for animals in the sand. Much enjoyment was had during this month’s theme!
